The US Govt. vs. Thomas Ranier

July 31st, 2008 by Christopher

Thomas Rainer of L’Ame Immortelle and Nachtmar is apparently having a great deal of difficulty getting a Visa, which he’ll need if he’s to join in on the exciting November package tour with DTC favorites Alter Der Ruine, also featuring Synthetic Adrenaline Music (S.A.M.). So far there’s no date set for the Twin Cities (which frustrates the hell out of me) but I’ve been contacted by a number of people, including ADR, asking if I’ve reviewed Nachtmar’s latest album, Feuer Frei!. In fact, I have, and though it was a less-than-flattering review I’m sure Rainer’s inclusion on the tour would make for some exciting performances. After all, Rainer’s a showman and probably has big plans for Nachtmar’s live US debut.

So everyone’s trying to get a list of reviews together to prove Nachtmar is legit, or something. I have yet to be given a satisfactory answer to the question of why existing reviews will make the difference as to whether or not Nachtmar is allowed into the country but let it not be said that DTC hasn’t “done its part” to bring another Dark Electro act to the hungry masses.

Hopefully this will all blow over and Rainer will be able to join in on the tour, Minneapolis date notwithstanding. We’ll keep you updated.
