According to a press release that happened across the desk here at Castle DTC, former Funker Vogt guitarist Thomas Kroll is rejoining the group after a five year absence. This is great news, especially when taking into consideration that we don’t even remember there ever being any guitar in Funker Vogt’s music.
Anyway, the act has a new CD titled Warzone K17: Live in Berlin slated for early 2009. Metropolis will be releasing a digital-only teaser on November 11th featuring a live version of “White Trash” from the upcoming album, and two new re-arrangements of “Thanks For Nothing” and “Black Hole.”
Aaand another Angel gets its wings. Or something.

I recall their being guitar samples on “Killing Fields” and “Thanks for Nothing.”
But once they started to doing the synthpop, the guitar was dropped. But the shredding is their when they play live.
On that note: Funker Vogt will be doing what appears to be an exclusive Chicago live date in early December.
