I can’t tell you much about them as there is a dearth of quality information about them online (at least in English) but you should look into the band Pilori. They fall in line with the Neoclassical/Neofolk style but have a kind of mystical, Goth/Pagan feel to their music that seems rooted in tribal ritualism and Ethereal wonder. Hailing from Seligenstadt, Germany the act is comprised of vocalist Marion Musch alongside Inge Breichler and Gernot Musch. Lush acoustic instrumentation with atmospheric keyboards and light electronics accompany spare yet driving rhythms that seem borne out of the natural world, augmenting lyrics sung in German, English, French and Hebrew. I’d highly recommend you check out their upcoming release on Trisol, Until The Day Dawn, available January 25th.
And before you dismiss them based on genre affiliation know that they don’t sound like the one dimensional dullards that make up a significant portion of styles such as these. Think early-to-mid Nineties Projekt with less chorus and delay. You can get a small taste at Last.fm. They’re at least worth a few blissful minutes of your time.
