Never mind the history behind the “holiday.” There have been plenty of life-affirming celebrations borne of atrocity. This weekend is a time to give thanks, take stock in what you have achieved and reflect upon not only your accomplishments but the direction in which you are headed. Express these things with the people you know and those with whom you might surround yourself over the course of the next four days. We have our lives, our experiences and perspectives to share with one another through means of expression that are entirely our own. Just like in music and art we engage in a kind of language that furthers the human experience. I look forward to everything everyone can share. It is a benefit to the greater community.
