Here at DTC we’ve been eagerly anticipating Erica Dunham’s latest effort as Unter Null and have even engaged in speculation regarding the sound of her new work and the direction in which she has been moving.
Alas, the speculation may have to continue for quite some time as Moving On, which was recently completed and due to be released via Alfa Matrix, has been destroyed – along with all of Dunham’s equipment and home studio – in a devastating fire.
An occurrence such as this would present a minor setback for any mainstream musician but for an independent artist that makes little to nothing for her efforts and barely manages to make a living with a regular job like the rest of us this sort of thing makes for a near-insurmountable challenge from which to continue on with a creative career.
Erica could use some help picking up the pieces and if you’ve ever found enjoyment from her music or can at least empathize with what she’s going through right now I would entreat you to visit her MySpace page where she has posted her Paypal info inviting donations from fans and friends. This isn’t something she can overcome on her own.

God. If there was a worse time for this to happen to a musician, I can’t imagine when it was. Things are brutal out there for independent artists. Brutal. Hope people help her to recoup her losses to the extent possible.

[...] suppose you could call it the recouping my losses tour, but Unter Null is currently booking dates for a US run with XP8 and syndika:zero. A great lineup [...]
