So Project Pitchfork, the Industrial band you love to…feel indifference toward – are BACK! With a new album due out February 27th called Dream, Tiresias! they’re poised to…continue eliciting indifference throughout the greater dark Electro community. The thing that strikes me about PP is that when they’re good they’re pretty damn entertaining but when they suck, which is far too frequent, they’re instantly forgettable. But hell, they’ve been cranking out material for well over a decade and a half and the snippets posted on their MySpace page show promise, though they are still projecting inane lyrics like the English-As-A-Second-Language act they truly are.
Back when I was in a band we opened up for an act from Sweden that wasn’t fluent in our particular dialect. There was this running joke where we would imitate the vocalist and say things like, “I only know two sentences in English. I don’t know what I just said.” It comes to mind when I hear this German group. It helps me look past the pedestrian ridiculousness of the words being spoken/sung.
Apparently the first single is “Feel,” which seems like the weakest track of all the snippets they provide on their page. Don’t let that deter you from exploring this release further. It might actually turn out to be one of their least insignificant offering!
I’m such a dick sometimes.
