Systematik Elimination

April 8th, 2009 by Christopher

InfotainmentInformatik held a remix contest and recently announced two winners (Synthetic Dream Foundation and Pulse State – hey, at least we know those acts). Their efforts will see the light of day some time in the fall on a release from Metropolis Records that I know little to nothing about other than the fact it apparently has been titled Arena.

So what about all the unlucky saps who poured their all into remixing tracks from Beyond (an album I actually liked. Here, I can prove it – read the review) and came away with nothing? Well, most of them get just that…nothing. However a lucky chosen few (13 to be exact – and ain’t that a lucky number!) get their hard work rewarded with inclusion on a completely 100% free compilation of remixes, licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike License.

But it gets better. Of these 13 tracks, seven of them are “Temporary” and six of them are “My True Love.” That’s it. That’s all you get. Two of the weakest tracks off a pretty good album remixed over and over and over again by a bunch of people you probably won’t recognize, save for a couple. So have at it. Hey, it’s free. Quitcher bitchin’!

Follow us through the rabbit hole.
