Terror-EBM. Harsh EBM. Terror-banana. Hellectro. Blah blah blah. If I have to sit through one more Suicide Commando clone I’ll stab my own eardrums out with a pencil. It’s gotten so ridiculous with the same synth sounds, same bass loops, same beats and same overdriven, distorted vocals.
Enough already.
So it’s a relief to hear VLRK (aka Jos Tucker) of Grendel – in an interview with Noisescape TV at Festival Kinetic – talk about how the style is done and they’re moving in a new direction that isn’t so stale. Grendel has an EP due out in August with a new album following it by the end of the year. It should be interesting to hear.
Check out the interview footage below.
Suicide Commando will be out with a new single and album very soon but you can pretty much expect that it will sound like Suicide Commando. After all, it is Suicide Commando.
And if you’re looking for a change of pace check out the speed-rich, technoid Grendel side-project Urkom.

I’m not exactly clear on what he means. Though while I’m no fan gremlin vocals, I’m fucking irritated by 90% of singers.
Be scared he’s an — avid fan of a lot of bad music.
(though I found this interview funny, as the first time I met him, he told me that music does not get better then early Suicide Commando and Leather Strip)
