Post Hi Goth Folks!
Hi. I'm magma90210. I'm new here.

I was referred to this board by some TCpunk folks who thought I should post about my band here. They thought people might like our soundz. Perhaps you might I don't know.

Anyway, howdy and hope you are having a good day. Here is my band's website. We're called Maps of Norway and have some goth/post punk tendencies.

I'll attest to Mr. Magma's character and fine band. Here I am, attesting.

I think the fact that Maps of Norway are a "conventional" bass, drum, guitar, singer-type live band without any blips, bleeps or disco drums shies some "goths" away.

I love conventional style rock and or roll, so I'll definitely give it a shot.

I also love female vocals.

I'm listening to the Price of Fame right now. Vocally it's somewhat reminescent of Autumn, and musically it's simple, but easy to listen to....

Very difficult to understand what is being said, though...

Matches reminds me of Afraid off of David Bowie's Heathen album....

A Concerned Reader is I think my favorite track off Myspace. It has a lot of power and strength, which I really appreciate in music. A little repetitive, maybe, now it's slowing down ... hmm, now delicate. Interesting shift, actually, it kind of reminds me of Dresden Dolls in emotion and character, which, for me, is a good thing....

Very interesting, I can sense some depth in the lyrics, even if I can't fully understanding them. If tweaked a bit in production I would be very interested in seeing how the arleady formidable sound could evolve.

oh i should have said, the songs on the myspace thing were just practice space demos we did with our friend on a minidisc recorder, so it's not super polished...we're recording this weekend.

Maps of Norway are my favorite local band (I went back and forth between them and Blitzen before, but now that Blitzen has broken up it's an easy call). Mind you I see somewhere in the neighborhood of 100+ local bands a year.

Everyone should check them out live.
