Post Hi, I just moved here from Rotterdam, Netherlands...
Hi, I just moved to the Twin Cities. Any info about the goth / electronica scene here would be most welcome - espcially - where to buy music CDs / DVDs...

*** Favourite bands ***

Rammstein (Germany)... www.rammstein.de
Bauhaus (UK)... www.bauhausmusik.com
Ivar Damian (Iceland)... www.ivardamian.com
Dead Can Dance (UK)... www.deadcandance.com
Lost Soul (Netherlands)... no website yet
Gates of Elyzium (Netherlands)... no website yet
VNV (Germany)... www.vnvnation.com

Hope that helps you get an idea of the type of music I'm looking for. Thanks!

Online. Har!!

Actually, the cheapo store on Central Ave (65) in Columbia Heights had an atypically large quantity of Metropolis Records and other dark electro/industrial type acts, last time I was there (about a week ago).

Other than that, there's a corner shop in Nicollet mall (?), I forget the name because I don't plan to ever go there again, but they've got a good selection with bad prices and some truly assinine employees. (perhaps not ALL; your mileage may vary)

Anyhoo, welcome to the Twin Cities!

Welcome dkrp2z,

On line is about the best place to get new music. As far as clubs go, there is Ground Zero which plays industrial/electronica every Thursday, Friday and Saturday and there is Hard Mondays at the Saloon which also plays goth, industrial and electronica.

Are you referring to the closed-for-several-months-now Let It Be Records? It was a great record shop with nice people and decent prices. They also carried a wider range of electronica and such than practically anyone else in Minnesota.

So yes, you will never go there again, unfortunately.
