Post subject:  Good day all

I just ran across this site while surfing the internet looking for good goth/dark music venues in the Twin Cities area and thought I'd register.

I wouldn't by any means classify myself as Goth (I don't like classifying myself as anything if you want the truth), more "Goth-inclined." Some people think I'm a goth because my dress style favors black though.

Anyways, I'll share a little about me...

Music tastes: Collide, David Bowie, Beatles, Chiasm, Frank Sinatra, Crystal Method, and a sick affinity for listening and laughing to the 90's greatest hits.

Hobbies/Interests: airsoft, spending time with friends, computer games, reading (histories, especially), fancy cars, art

That's about it for now, anything else you want to know go ahead and ask. I can't promise the right answers, but I can promise that a dumb question will get a dumb answer!

Later.

Welcome To Gothling!!

So do you prefer gas or electric? (heh heh, that's an airsoft question, not a cooking question)

Some of the specifics on the http://www.gothling.com/clubs.php page are outdated, but:
Monday: 18+ darksidey night, "Hard Mondays" at Saloon (downtown on Hennepin).
Thursday: the original "Bondage-a-Go-Go" night at Ground Zero never dies, it just withers, and then gets "Reloaded", and then...
Friday: "Corrosion" at Ground Zero. Definitely the night for "hard industrial" music.
Saturday: "Revolt", aka "Bondage-a-Go-Go Lite" at Ground Zero.

That's about it for dance-club regular nights, right now. Expect a smattering of synthpop and psytrance along with EBM, goth, industrial, noise, futurepop, etc at most of these. Dunno if that'll suit your tastes (Frank Sinatra doesn't get a lot of play), but check 'em out and see. Playlists can be found at www.questionableindustries.com(???) and www.phaserpunk.com(?), though both seem to be dead now...

Concerts and "hang out"(music-irrelevant) bars and events can be found in the Event Planning forum, of course, and occasionally the "darkside" and "hardline" e-mail lists over at www.waste.org.

Wear a black toga so everyone will recognize you. =)

I recommend AEGs to all my customers.

Thanks for the music info too, guys, but I thought Hard Mondays had died? I haven't been to the saloon since the last goth prom.

*Blushes* Why thank you.

Helio is right though, it is far from dead. Actually it's doing better then it has in years.

Oh and Welcome.
