Post Hi, I'm new here...
Greetings all,
Glad I stumbled upon this site. I would like to introduce myself. First off please check out my music (shameless self promotion I know) http://www.myspace.com/microwaved and read my bio. I'm originally from Maple Grove but haven't lived there in a long time. I have lots of friends I keep in contact with in Minneapolis and have played many a show there between First Ave (7th Street), Ryan's (4th Street Station), that pizza place in Dinkytown and various other homes and basements. I miss Minneapolis miserably and wish my wife would agree to move back there but alas I'm stuck in the land of corn. My wife and I just had our first child and Matt from Caustic is damn sexy when he's answering my interview questions! Last time I was in the glorious city I caught the Ministry - RevCo show at the Quest and ran into a lot of old friends. So say hello and maybe we actually might know each other.

Later,
Microwaved.

Yes there is but I can't remember the name of it right now. I played a couple of shows there on this tiny stage when I was in a band called Smakdab. We played with American Head Charge and that one band you know that other band that was pretty big back then with the rap like vocals. Can't remember their name at all right now. Damn.

I don't know he looks pretty sexy to me :) Especially when he's eating banananas (is it wrong that I just used a Gwen Stefani song to spell a word?).

I love my myspace friends they make me feel all warm inside. That means I love you!

Release was the name of the other band. Oh and A:Pod was around too but I don't think they ever played with us in Minneapolis, although Luk and Aaron and I still chat now and again.

Was the pizza place you are referring to more of a little deli? With a tiny room in the back with a tiny stage in it?

If that's the place, the name escapes me, but they are gone now. Closed up shop probably five years ago.

I saw PROC there a number of times.

Yeah that sounds about right. Used to have to flip the pool table over and push it against the wall so people could dance.

I see my brother in arms Mach has joined the fray! Now that is a bunch of sexy bitches right there!

And you are right it was Bon Apetite. Thanks for the memory jog.

Hey Mark I'm digging the hell out of your new tunes. Let me know when you want to come my way again and maybe I can help get you another show in CF. It would be great to see you and I Roadbot again!

the bon was great. the room was so tiny, smoky and loud I'm surprised I can still hear or see. there's nothing like really loud, really bad metal 4 feet from your face in 95 degree heat.

they were always Martin's hideous punk bands when I was at the Bon...

Brian and Katya are both eye candy, but Matt's still damn sexy.

welcome in, microwaved!

Thank you, thank you. Glad to be here.

As far as the punk bands went, when we stopped playing there it was becoming more and more punk and less metal. I hate to call my old band metal though, more like dark pop with metallic guitars.

But skywayman you are dead on right about loud, smokey and hot. I think it was like 97 degrees in there at all times. It was a lot of fun those days though a lot of fun. Fun hanging with Steve Wolfe, Aaron Zilch, Luk Williamson (Luk's dad owned a book store around there too), Cat, the guys from AHC and Release. Good times, good times. I miss them sometimes that is for sure.
