 creepy toys
WTF is up with kids toys these days? Seriously, I would think that the Singing Pizza Elmo would scare the sh*t out of little kids. Isn't the idea of a singing pizza a bit creepy?

correction; a little bit of fat is absolutely necassary for digestion and nutrition absorbtion.
TMYK.
now, the saturated fat, while awfully damn tasty, is not good for you, full stop. but, knowing rskm, his house is full of pre-processed "food" that's only 1 or 2 molecules away from being indestinguishable from its own packaging...

Corn dogs 'n' toaster pastries, mmmmm-MM! And they're organic, because I sprinkle dirt on them.
But at least I've never actually sung a duet with something I cooked. That Singing Pizza Elmo is almost as creepy as the murals at Famous Dave's that depict a pig with a chef's hat and a spatula... presumably grillin' up his ex-wife or neighbor or something.

That's why I keep a tiny-but-powerful rare earth magnet in my desk. A few good swipes near the hard drive, and presto - problem solved.

wtf?
i have this clock in my living room that one day was suddenly an hour behind (it's battery operated.) i didn't do anything to it until we turned the clocks back recently and decided to just pop in a new battery, since the time was now correct on it.
tonight, i look up and it's an hour behind again. it never falls further behind than that.
now, if i didn't know better, i'd think someone was fucking with me, but since martin is the only person who has keys to my apartment other than my landlord/maintenance guy, i know it's not any person doing this.
luckily i don't rely on it for actual time, but it is a pretty clock and i wish it would work the way it is supposed to.

You can gripe all you want, but they're never going to remake "Airwolf." You're just going to have to deal with that.

Come to think of it, I think The A-Team is due for a 2008 facelift too.

The sad thing is, you know the old cast of Airwolf would star in a movie for some cans of food, and cab fare.
And don't tempt the fates with the A-Team, as I could very easily see P-Diddy making it into a movie, with himself playing all the parts.

Just so you know, they are making an A-Team movie, but P-Diddy is nowhere near it. Now if only they can get Mr. T to reprise his role, he actually will work for a can of food!

I would love to find the fuckas who is responsible for the timing of the stoplights at the intersetion of Minnehaha and 42nd
It seems like I have to sit through at least two if not 3 lights during rush hour
It takes long enough for the cycle to complete itself with the right turn arrows and such
Of course, you sit there and wait for your turn to go and that's when the light rail train comes along and negates your turn
The cycle starts all over again and you have to wait for your turn
The last time I ran into this problem, I shit you not, 92.5 played the entire song "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" while I was waiting
Also
Who the fuck designed the parking lots in this state?
It takes as long to shop as it does to get out of the fucking parking lot
Finally
Woe is the person who tries to make it out of downtown if they are headed north
Wana know why Dallas has somany car chases on those "World's most dangerous police videos"?
It's because there's an entrance ramp to the highway EVERY OTHER FUCKING MILE!!!!
Minneapolis should have a new motto
"You can't get there from here"

As a pro wrestling fan, I find that stuff entertaining
I admire how these guys pull this stuff off
I also know how fuckin' hokey it is to people who don't care for it
Because it is
I think it has become a little too obsesed with plot twists but the action is top notch
WTF
People who go on American Idol to "protest"
Even worse
People who wait until they get turned down to start preaching
Especially when they know they are not that good
They're just hoping

Now that I ride mass transit with the unwashed masses of Dallas, I have noticed a new type of overweight chick
We all know about "muffin tops" (which i don't mind one bit) caused by chicks wearing low rise jeans that have a bit of a tummy
Well, now that low rise jeans have made their way into the category of "just because it comes in your size doesn't mean you should wear it"
It used to be that fat chicks with large guts would wear something flattering or, just let the gut hang
However, thanks to low rise jeans, we see guts that hang around the waist like a doughnut or perhaps the rubber poriton of a bumper pool obstacle
The worst is when they wear a wife beater
WTF?
Don't you have a full length mirror at home?

Don't even get me started on Minneapolis women
I'm assuming you are a male looking for a female because women don't have anywhere close to this problem as men
I found a few fuck buddies myself while I was up there last time but it was a shitload of work
Not only that but I had to waste my time with some girls I assumed were a sure thing
However, it turned out they just wanted the power derived from the attention recieved whilst acting like they wanted it
There are lots of girls in Minneapolis who act like they want it but it seems that when it is time to deliver, they let you down
So here's the deal
Don't try to pick up Minneapolis girls in public (i.e the club) unless you have one of these things
Money
Status
A girlfriend/wife who is a swinger
The scene in Mpls is quite small and they all know what's going on with each other
Add to that, the whole "Minnesota nice" aspect skews their ideas about promisculity
Your best bet is to get them to go out with you (where their friends don't have any influence over them) and charm your way in
Plus, you have to convince them you will keep it quiet so as not to upset their standing in the eyes of their friends
Once that happens, just be up front and let them know exactly what it is (just sex and possibly company) and what it is not (a relationship)
You're going to miss much more than hit on this one and you may have to lower the standards a bit
A bit of consolation regarding lowering your standards is that I have found that most hot chicks who require a lot of jumping through the hoops are mostly terrible in the sack because they have that sense of entitlement and therefore will not/cannot deliver
The ones who don't get hit on as much seem to be a little more appreciative when it comes to doing their part
Or, you can just move to a different city where the women aren't as stuck on themselves as they are in Mpls
Ever wonder why I keep moving back to Dallas?
They just seem to jump in the boat down here and they don't have the hangups that midwestern girls seem to have
Lastly, if you do find one, you can't get all double standard-y on them
If they're doing you casually then they probably are doing others (mainly because they have to take up the slack fromk all the girls here that aren't putting out)
If you want a one on one thing then that's what a girlfriend is for

Wow. Somebody's bitter.
I'm proud to be a Minnesota woman who possesses none of the attributes you just listed. I'm sick of men trashing girls of a particular region/color/size/age just because they couldn't get with one. So own up to your social failings and just say "I can't woo a woman" rather than place the blame on a general group due to the one bad experience with some psycho that you had.
So WTF? Guys who can't score like to pretend it's because the girl is a tease. WTF?

Actually, I never once had a problem getting a woman to go out with me. And beyond that I rarely had a problem getting them into bed.
In Minneapolis, St. Paul or any of the other cities in Minnesota or around the country. Nothing wrong with Minnesota girls.
Kinda sucks I'm married now, but I got one of the good ones who manages to always keep it interesting, so I'm cool with it.

[quote="manna_panna"]Wow. Somebody's bitter.[quote]
Wow, somebody's predictable (and somebody's reading waaay too much into it as well)
That's the exact response I expected
I call them as I see them and I don't sugar coat it, which leads people who don't know me personally to assume I'm bitter
I get plenty of tail when I'm in Mpls
The problem is that things aren't so cut and dry there as they are in many other places I have visited and lived
I don't like jumping through hoops and playing games when I'm out hunting for tail
Minneapolis has the highest ratio of fakers out there
Many dress slutty
Many act slutty
But when it comes to delivering the goods, they suddenly have morals
I'm not saying all Mpls chicks are that way but there are enough of them that it is more noticable than other cities/regions
I can understand why GCHE got so much tail because he's from here
I grew up in Dallas where the rules of engagement are a bit different
Sure, I get turned down here in Dallas too but I don't get so much judgemental attitude from Dallas chicks
In fact, they seem to respect my straightforwardness a lot more than Mpls chicks do
It's not like I don't know how to observe social situations and the people participating in them
Many of my friends who visit Mpls have the same opinion
I have always had a problem with people in Mpls no matter what situation because there are fundamental differences between Dallas culture and Mpls culture
People down here tolerate quite a bit more aggressiveness than you do up there
People like Drok, GCHE, and Lenin totally understand where I'm coming from because they respect the fact that honesty to one's own personality is more important than some chick's feelings in a bar
They just happen to also posess experience growing up in the region so they navigate midwestern culture much better
So, don't fall back on the easy "You're just bitter" copout
You don't know me and you don't know what experiences I have digested whilst in Mpls
Therefore, you might wanna check your facts before you go making assumptions regarding my motivations

Actually, I am a female-to-male transy person living as something in-between. So I actually look like a chick most days.
And as for girlfriends (or boyfriends, as both are fine by me) I wish it were so easy to find people to date. But being as relationships are irritating me lately, I'm not very interested in that whole "emotional" thing.
I certainly hope I'm not having difficulties because I'm ugly or something. That would hurt my sensitive self-esteem.
EDIT: To add, WTF makes Yakshini so repulsive that nobody wants a piece? Could it be the bad skin? The chronic anger and depression? The world may never know!

Maybe it's your poor self-esteem.....not that you are repulsive

Incorrect. I'm originally from NY. And I will capitulate that it's even easier to get tail there.

Referring to yourself in the third person might have something to do with it

Well Yak
Of all the places I have been, Mpls seems to be the most trans friendly so far (I have not been to NYC long enough to judge and never been to LA)
That's one of the things I can say regarding my Mpls vs Dallas rant
Here in Dallas, most trans people are the weekender types that go to drag shows
I'm not saying that I haven't seen a couple of committed 24 hr trans people in Dallas, but Minneapolis has the hardcore trans
People in Dallas tend to stick with their own kind and there's even a "gay area" of town
I'm not sure how others see it but have you been to Pi Bar yet?
The crowd is mostly lesbian with a heavy leaning towards the dyke-y side but they are very friendly and accepting to most patrons (even my obnoxious ass)
Buck up little soldier
Keep at it and you'll find some sugar
Speaking of being "in between" do you know about two prominent trans oriented bands in Mpls?
All the Pretty Horses is a dark glam outfit run by Venus deMars
Venus is the first "in between" trans I ever met and I learned a lot about gender identity from her
Harsh Reality is a metal band with two trans persons in it
Jendeen is a veteran jazz drummer (and the only one badass enough to take my place in my old band) who has been trans for the last decade as well as the bass player Tempest
If you attend either of their shows, you are likely to find empathetic people to interact with
Good luck

Poor self-esteem and talking about myself in third person should be things for me to work on...
I only wish that I actually lived closer to Mpls.
But thanks for the advice, fellas.

It seems like I just went through hell trying to fire a guy. So my reward is going through a hiring process, screening new people and then training them for weeks? WTF?

The long fingernail is for sniffing coke, though it's mainly a fashion statement these days.

So I'm at Party City, shopping for some missing pieces of Halloween costume, and...
...there's a whole section...
...labeled "Gothic".
WTF? How does it make you feel that people dress up as YOU for Halloween ?!?

WTF? How does it make you feel that people dress up as YOU for Halloween ?!? I dress as myself every day. Well, almost. Sometimes I dress as a hick, but that's on days I fix my car.

WTF? Doesn't anybody proofread? I just got an email from Envy nightclub's e-list saying:
Quote: Back Room - Jon Hester is back! Start your weekend off with Hester spinning his unique style like no other! Don't miss your chance to see one fatastic DJ!
Well, I was gonna go to GZ tonight, but by golly, none of the DJ's there are gonna be fatastic! ROFL
